As the customer notes below, the IRPTZ22 is a great product. It’s also a unique product. Rarely do you come across a PTZ camera that is also infrared because of the camera’s considerable power requirements. The camera and motors all run on 12vdc. However, since 12vdc cannot be run over a long distance without some power dissipation, we include a 24 volt power supply and use a transformer inside the camera to convert back to 12vdc. The cameras now include a 180va transformer that will not overheat and allow the customer to run 18/2 up to 500' which has been thoroughly tested. The PTZ will work with Pelco D - but it’s a matter of getting the dip switch settings set up correctly. Tech support is available to help with this.

This is a great camera. Great optics, great IR source.
However, the company does not seem to really know how much power it draws. It actually runs on 24VAC via a power supply located in the housing. They list is a 12VDC they told me, because the internal workings use this. It's as if I asked what grade of gas to use in my car and they tell me about the engine valves.
It was shipped without a transformer at all. A call to support was handled by someone who did not know the device and had only "did you plug it in?" sort of support. Eventually, they shipped a 40 VA "wall wart" 24VAC transformer, which promplty melted down. This camera system needs at least 100 VA, so you will have to get your own transformer.
The device does not seem to work with the recommended PTZ joystick in Pelco D format, but it does work in Pelco P. Weird.
Yeah, I'd buy another one. But I'd know what to expect next time. Now you will too.
