Cameras worked will. The color of the camera is a little different than in the picture. It is actually more of a light purple color. The pictures are great and installation was a breeze.
I would definitely recommend this camera, especially with the price at DSC.

Original Customer Review:
Just placed one of these on my porch at my farm to watch wildlife and for security. Easy setup. Following comments are with about 10 hours of experience; will comment later when I have more time. Was in focus when I installed, but wanted to mess with zoom--very difficult to get the zoom 'knob' to move. Focus 'knob' had no problem. Eventually I got a pretty good picture during daylight. The infrared mode is much poorer than I had hoped for. Very dark.
DSC Response:
The IR on this camera should be pretty good. If your IR is dark there are a couple things that could be going on: For one thing, infrared cameras need something to bounce the IR light off of. So if you are pointing your camera off into the distance outside with not much in the field of view, the image would generally appear dark. But, if anything moves into the field of view then the IR will have something to reflect off of and the object should appear brighter. Another issue to consider is power. High IR cameras need lots of power to be effective. You bought the 12VDC power supply from us which should be plenty of source amperage - but you could be having issues due to the type of cable and connections that you are using. We recommend 18 guage. If you are still having issues with the IR please reply back and we'll get you some more help.
Customer Response:
Thanks. I will try the things you suggest, although my cable is fixed...I placed it before I put the drywall up--it is good camera cable, as far as I know. Once the camera has been up and working for a couple of weeks, I'll revisit the web site and give an update. Appreciate the customer service.
